Since its formation by decision of the Rector, the Permanent Committee of the E-Transactions has held several meetings pertaining to the pursuit of rapid transformation towards e-Government, all chaired by the Vice President of the University, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Khudairi.
The most important tasks of the Committee are as follows:
• The development of the plan towards the implementation and supervision of electronic transactions in the University. This will enable the University to maintain consistency with the national plan of communications and information technology, and the operational plan of electronic government transactions in the Kingdom.
• The supervision of the implementation of the University Portal, as well as the administrative, financial and academic systems.
• The development of a Strategic Plan for information technology and the identification of computing needs and requirements thereof.
• The development of an Operational Plan for information technology in providing hardware, software and networking platforms in order to achieve the goals of the Strategic Plan.
The Committee has focused its recent meetings on the following-up and directing of the projects of the administrative, financial and academic systems, as well as on the project of switching to e-government transactions. To this end, the university is currently working with “Yesser” Program Team.
