Dr. Muhammad Bin Saeed Al-Kahtani, dean of Information Technology and Distance Learning in University of Salman Bin Abdul Aziz participates in "GITEX technology week" conference, the most important and biggest annual forum of a kind in the region. The prestigious event is continuously year after year attracting the most prominent thinkers and businessmen as well as gathering experts and decision makers from all over the Middle East, Africa and Asia. The conference shall last for five days from 14 – 18 October in Dubai World Trade Center.
Dr. Muhammad Bin Saeed Al-Kahtani shall speak in the session dedicated for learning titled "the Future Campus: readiness for approaching world ", with Jonathan Chapman: senior information director in Georgetown University – International Affairs Faculty in Qater, Joseph Netekaden senior information director in "I.S.O.L", Jacoup Koryan: head of information technology in Khalifa University of Science, Technology & Researches, Iyan Macenze: head of information technology in Emirates Collage for Educational Development and Shams Hassan: head of information technology in Carnegie Mellon University and Jane Yource: technical director in InfoBlox.
In his speech in that session, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahtani shall deal with the future of the university smart cities and the e-learning environment as well as how to enrich the university experience through using technical solutions, providing training for faculty members in a way that deepens the connection between students and professors.
In that concern, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahtani declared to "Al Khaleej" Emeriti newspaper that: "students nowadays used to use the search engine Google, and many of them prefer that to ask their professors, firstly, they spend a long time surfing the internet, secondly, they get immediate answer, without noticing the accuracy of the information that they get. Therefore, we have to fill this gap and enrich the learning experience through enabling the university and the faculty members to cope with the needs and requirements of the students as they are longing to technology and see it as a means to enrich their knowledge and experience, from our part, we should provide our universities with the most innovated technologies in order to achieve that."
