Within the International Conference for Entrepreneurship in E-Learning and Teaching that was held in University of Liverpool in UK, Dr. Mohammad Al Kahtani Dean of IT and Distance Learning delivered the university’s experiment in traditional education transformation to mixed education. Through a paperwork, Dr. Al Kahtani viewed the most prominent cases that concerns specialist of the international e-learning and the focus on e-learning in Saudi Arabia Kingdom. The paperwork also dealt with the factors that contribute in adopting the e-learning as a pioneer method such as women education, education in the border and remote areas and the wide geographic scope of Universities, like PSAU. E-learning also contributes in promoting the academic programs by enriching the digital content of the courses, which overcomes problems countered by academic department, such as the lack of teachers in some majors.
Moreover, Dr. Al Kahtani discussed the needs that led to promote e-learning in the kingdom such as the march towards the transition to the knowledge economy, and the need of elevating skills and abilities that are sustainably required by labor market. He also discussed the deference’s between the e-learning styles and the deferent educational needs of each sector of the Saudi community, besides the e-learning experiments according the educated requirements.
Furthermore, Dr. Al Kahtani presented the university’s experiment in developing the students’ and faculties’ abilities in employing e-learning system. The system aims to nurse the excellent students and faculties through holding workshops and trainings for them. It also enables them to communicate with their colleagues as experts and references in e-learning, which will lead to spread the culture of e-learning in the university.
