Deanship of IT and Distance Learning participated in a workshop dedicated for e-learning deans about increasing the reliability on e-learning systems that are based on international Blackboard. Dr. Mohammad Al Kahtani Dean of IT and Distance Learning was invited to present PSAU model regarding e-learning systems training and awareness. This model is an outcome of a plan that aims to highlight the promising forms and strategies that are adopted by universities to increasing the reliability on e-learning systems.
The workshop was held on Sunday 17, 2/1437H Corr. 29/11/2015 at The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh. The e-learning team presented the deanship’s program and its activities on this regard. Moreover, the most prominent act was the adoption of linking the e-learning system with the tools that are used by faculties and students, such as faculties’ websites and the Saudi Digital Library. In addition, the deanship has provided an instant support and training for the faculties, besides providing tools such live chat, Blackboard forms and digital manuals. Also, it provided a visual manual about the Blackboard on the university’s channel on YouTube.
It is worth mentioning, the workshop was dedicated to present the experiment of Ulster University as international model and PSAU as a national model. Moreover, the applied strategies of the two universities were crossed in many aspects such as the focusing on the awareness and training activities, and the promotion of the remarkable example of e-learning pioneers.
